Biryani is a mouth watering dish in the middle eastern region mostly among the Indian and the Pakistani region. People consider it a delicacy and savor to taste buds any time around the seasons. The biryani no doubt a difficult dish to make but it truly pays off with its delicious taste and unique aroma.
If you search for online Chicken biryani recipes you would find several different types of recipes with their own spices and ingredients. But with each biryani you get a unique taste and it really depends on you which do you like the best.
To sum it up i will be sharing with you a similar recipe to biryani that in my opinion is the best. As a inhabitant of the middle east i have tried several biryani recipes and i think this is the best recipe with the best taste and aroma.
- Chicken breast fillets 1/2 kg
- Lemon juice 1&1/2 TBS
- Green chili (Crushed) 1 TBS
- Green chili 2 pcs or to taste
- Salt 1/2 TSP or to taste
- Paprika Powder 2 TSP
- Turmeric Powder 1/2 TSP
- Ginger Garlic Paste 1/2 TBS
- Yogurt 1/4 Cup
- Charcoal piece 1 pcs
- Butter 2-3 TBS
- Cooking oil 1/4 cup
- Green chilies 2-3
- Mace 1 whole
- Cloves 3-4 pcs
- Black Cardamom 1 pcs
- Green Cardamom 2 pcs
- Cinnamon Stick 1 pcs
- Bay leaves 2 pcs
- Onion (Grated) 1 Large
- Tomatoes (Blanched and Grinded) 3 Medium
- Coriander Powder 1 TSP
- Turmeric powder 1/2 TSP
- Red chili Powder 1&1/2 TSP
- Salt 1 TSP or To taste
- Ginger garlic paste 1/2 TBS
- Cream 3-4 TBS
- Dried Fenugreek Leaves 1 TSP
- RICE(Soaked and Boiled 3/4th done) 1/2 Kg
- Yellow Food color 1/2 TSP
Use the ingredients in the amount as prescribed above and follow the steps given below.
#1. Boil Rice
Soak and boil 1/2 kg rice until they are 3/4th done. About 15 min will ensure they are done. Also check to see if they are done properly.(depends on the type of rice you choose)
#2. Marinate Chicken
Wash and dry the chicken. Take a bowl and start adding the ingredients. Add all the ingredients of marination as listed above. Marinate for about 30 min atleast.
#3. Fry Chicken
Take 2 TBS oil in a frying pan and add the marinated chicken to it. Set the flames to medium. Cook for 15 min or until they are done.
Now take the piece of charcoal and heat it up on the burner till its start showing red surface. Take a cardboard piece and place it in the center of the pan. Put a drop or two on the charcoal and close the lid. Remove it after 2 min this will give smoky taste to the chicken. Keep the flames at low when placing the charcoal in the pan.
#4. Prepare the Curry
Fry 2-3 TBS butter on a pan till its melted completely. Add 1/4 cup cooking oil and set the flames to medium. Add: Green chillies(2-3), Mace(1) and Cloves(3-4), Black Cardamom(1), Green Cardamom(2), Cinnamon Stick(1), Bay leaves(2) and Onion Grated (1 Large. Mix well and cook for 4-5 mins.
Now add Tomatoes Blanched and Grinded (3 medium), Coriander powder(1 TSP) Red chili powder(1 TSP), Turmeric Powder(1/2 TSP), Salt(1 TSP or to taste) and Ginger garlic paste(1/2 TBS). Mix well and cook for 2-3 mins.
Add some water 1/2 cup or as required. Bring to boil then Cover & cook for 5-6 min on low flames.
#5. Add the Fried chicken
After then add the Fenugreek leaves(1 TSP) and the Fried chicken we had done before. Mix it well and cook on Medium flames for another 10min in partially cover lid.
#6. Preparing the Final Mixture
Add 1/4 cup Fried Onions, Mint leaves (1/4 cup), Fresh Coriander(1/4 cup), Ginger cut in long slices(1 TBS) and Cream (3-4 Tbs).
Without mixing now add the Rice Soaked and boiled before on top of the mixture. Spread them across finely to cover all edges.
For a little color to the rice add a mixture of food color and water on the rice. Mix it up but don't touch the bottom mixture.
Slide the spatula across all the corners for the steam to escape from the bottom. Cover and steam cook for 10 min. Afterward mix up the whole dish and you are done. Tasty chicken biryani is ready.
